We Just Began!

Maureen Birir (MWF2019) Presenting

Frank (RLC Coh29) sharing

Siku njema huonekana asubuhi is a Swahili saying that means one can tell a good day by observing it's dawn. If it starts well, then you have a bright one. Happy New Year! We are glad here as Yali Alumni Nakuru a.k.a CEP Nakuru to have began our events with the first one taking place at the American Space, Kenya National Library Service (Knls).
Young people from within Nakuru County benefited from wisdom and tenets of business tips shared by the crop of brilliant fellows from the YALI community. The speakers focused on personal growth and development. As a business person, I am well aware of the engrossment one can get in while building and/or working to sustain a venture. It is very easy to forget oneself. The four main speakers Maureen Birir (MWF2019), Frank Mwirigi (RLC Coh29), Joseck Olala (RLC Coh 25) and Peter Kariuki (RLC coh25) reiterated on the need for one to ensure continued learning whether or not the business succeds.

Connecting with the right people who motivate one to embrace healthy life habits is a point too important for anyone to ignore. Who is in your circle? What do they inspire you to do? Do you feel drained or energized? Generally, a symbiotic friendship which is mutual is desirable where not one of the parties feel wasted. Life is about giving and taking. Your circle needs to understand this otherwise one might realize they are suffocating.

As we begin the year, we ask you, dear reader to stay tuned for updates and opportunities. If you are an Alumnus of Yali who just came in Nakuru, please reach out by sending a message, we would like you to be part of the team. Blessed times ahead. We are in preparation for welcoming the newest cohort of alumni in town! See you here, next week.
