WHO IS CEP NAKURU?

CEP stands for Community Empowerment Platform. It is a Community Based Organisation formed by the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Alumni based in Kenya, Nakuru county. The office of the CBO is located in Kenya National Library Services, American Spaces, 2nd Floor, Biashara Ward, Nakuru Town East Sub-county, in Nakuru Town where most of the trainings and other information sessions take place. It is a not-for profit, non-partisan and non-religious group. Contact information can be found at the end of this post.

    Main Objective  
The purpose of this CBO is to raise the living standards by transform the livelihood of communities in Nakuru County.
    Specific Objectives
  •  Carry out community capacity building and development on STEAMD (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Arts and Design), leadership and good governance, business & entrepreneurship, health, environment and arts.
  •  To increase collaboration plans with other organizations, bodies, individuals whether national or international by having advocacy strategies for the similar cause as laid herein.
  • To organize and carry out workshops, Seminars and events that will empower the community and transform their livelihood.
  •  To participate and engage activities which are line with Kenya Vision 2030, The Big Four Agenda, AU Agenda 2063 and  the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
  • To raise funds and receive contributions where appropriate to finance the work.
    Membership and Eligibility
Here are the qualifications for membership:
  1.   First, you have to be a YALI RLCEA and/or MWF alumni, living and working in Nakuru County and actively participating in the group’s activities, attending meetings regularly as planned from time to time by the group.
  2.   Be of sound mind, trustworthy, decent, good social behaviors and free from scandals and have been vetted by the members and deemed fit to join the CBO.
  3. You should willing to work towards and help achieve the objectives of the CBO.
  4.  After meeting the above criteria, you'll be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of Ksh. 1000
